Building relationships. One cup at a time.

Coffee with a Cop brings police officers and the community members they serve together, over coffee, to discuss issues and learn more about each other. This is a thing, people, and it is amazing. Their mission is to bridge the divide between police officers and the citizens they serve. The Anoka Police Department is proudly participating in National Coffee with a Cop Day, reaching out to the good people of Anoka to build a closer connection.

Coffee with a Cop began in California in 2011, as a way to better interact with the citizens they served every day. Technology and modern day systems have turned the tables on communication. People have plenty to say, and it is very easy to hide behind text on a screen. The engagement and connection have deteriorated, and Coffee with a Cop is a perk in the right direction for bridging that gap. Since launching, Coffee with a Cop events have been hosted in all 50 states, and is one of the most successful community-oriented policing programs across the country. Anoka is proud to be included in the ever growing list of police stations and counties across the United States to participate on National Coffee with a Cop Day.
